Farmers are barely 1% of the US population, yet we sustain much of the rest. The American farmer is at an uncertain crossroad: soil, climate, global capitalism, and demographics loom large. What is clear is the need for more farmers and more farmer advocates. Eric's life purpose is more farmers, it is in his blood, it's not just a hat that he takes off at the end of the day.
Passing the Beginning Farmer Tax Credit
Eric coordinated the lobbying efforts of young farmers and other supporters to pass a first-in-the-country tax credit law in Minnesota. The law incentivizes transfer of farm land to the next generation. Learn more here.
Central Minnesota Young Farmers Coalition
As a founding member of CMNYFC Eric organizes and advocates for young farmers across Minnesota. He is also an active member in Farmer's Union, Land Stewardship Project, and serves on Minnesota's Rural Finance Authority board.
Old, New, and Working for the Future
